2006-2007 Postdoc at Institute of Ecology, UNAM, Mexico, with stays at Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands.


Research interest

  • We investigate the mechanisms of action of genes that regulate the development of plant organs (particularly aerial organs) from meristems (niches of plant stem cells).
  • We also study whether these regulators of development and cell identity also modulate the accumulation of secondary metabolites in plants and if so, which are the mechanisms through which they modulate it.
  • For our research, we use Arabidopsis thaliana, Nicotiana tabacum (tobacco), Marchantia polymorpha (a liverwort) & Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar periwinkle).
