2010 Registration to the Graduate program on Plant Biotechnology of Cinvestav- Unit Irapuato
Registration requirements for applicants to Master’s and Doctoral (direct and traditional) degrees:
a) An accomplished undergraduate degree on Chemistry, Biology, Agronomy or any other related disciplines.
b) Knowledge on Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Probability and Statistics
c) A minimum overall score average of 8.0 or equivalent
d) Full-time availability
e) Approval of the admission exams.
f) Two letters of recommendation sent directly by the adviser to secretaria@ira.cinvestav.mx.
Additionally, candidate should show a positive attitude towards the achievement of high levels of competitiveness, creativity and independence in researcher work, as well as ambition to obtain and generate original and relevant knowledge for the development of science, both at national and international levels.
For the Traditional Doctoral program, the candidate should have obtained a master’s degree in Sciences from the same areas of knowledge.
Selection of applicants
Once the above requirements are fulfilled, the applicant should apply and approve the admission exams. These exams are the same for all graduate levels (Master and Doctorate)
Preparatory Courses
Preparatory (propaedeutic) courses will be offered from Jun 14 to July 23, 2010 on Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry. None of these courses are serial or compulsory and are designed to review the basics of these disciplines in order to homogenize the knowledge of all the applicants.
Admission exams
The admission exams to the graduate program on Plant Biotechnology will be held in July 26, 27 and 28, 2010 at the different Units of Cinvestav in the country: Irapuato, Querétaro, Guadalajara, Saltillo, Mérida, Monterrey and México City (Central Headquarters).
